Sun:Shade
I took this photograph of the shadow of a tree at the weekend in the soft warm afternoon light. I’d been looking for a nice crisp tree shadow for a little while. It is remiss of me once again to be unable to name the tree. I focused on the artistic aspect rather than the scientific for this image.

Nice combination of the shadow with the fallen leaves.

Thank you eremophila. Yes – I was pleased that the fallen leaves had been left intact in this otherwise orderly well-kempt place

Sometimes the simplest things are the most profound, I love the way there are actually falling leaves on the shadow’s branches.

Thank you bardess. Yes – the leaves were just in the right place for the shot

Thanks Hallysann. Yes – in a way, this could be a summer shot as it’s so bright and the contrast is so strong. The long shadows of Autumn are fun

Thank you elmediat! I did a B&W version but it wasn’t as strong. Maybe I needed to spend a bit more time on it.
