  2. It would provide some nice shade when all the leaves are out.

    • Yes – a nice place to sit on a hot Summer’s day.

  4. I love the contrast of the shadows of the branches with the straight curve of the path.

    • Thank you Maggie. I did consider cropping the path out of the image but I thought that it added something!

This is a great image. Shadows, to me, can give off two types off image, the cold one where everything looks stretched and creepy, enormous and spooky, or, the one where it makes things look warm and shaded, fuzzy and calming; this is warm to me :)

    • Thanks very much for your comments Littleskew. I’m pleased this one has a warm fuzzy feel. I had taken my camera into town and had been trying to capture tree reflections in a modern office building but it wasn’t going well. On my way back to the car, I spotted this shadow which looked so nice and inviting and I took a few photographs of it. I’m pleased I did :-)

Excellent shot. It has a hard intensity.

    • Thank you Elmediat. It looked quite striking in colour. The shadow was very strong.
