Some very tactile Spring growth from the Spruce tree – Pinaceae family – in the garden. With all the excitement of Spring flowers coming through, it’s easy to forget about interesting evergreens but these look so pretty. This photograph doesn’t show the contrast between the older growth and the new, but I’ve taken lots and lots of photos of it so will be uploading more – including the contrast in colours.

Thanks Sheila – I’m working hard on my depth of field! The new ‘shoots’ are soft and irresistible to touch, and the vibrant green is such a strong contrast to the older growth of dark green.
