I took this photograph yesterday evening and didn’t notice until I looked at it on the laptop that a bird had just entered the scene!
Looks as if the weather is going to ‘turn’ tonight. According to the Met Office, a ‘Spanish Plume’ is heading the UK’s way. On the Met Office blog this is described as a plume of warm air from the Spanish plateau which meets cooler air from the Atlantic. The warm air is forced over the cool air resulting in thunderstorms. As I look out of the window now, the sky is grey and the birds are a little quieter.
I hope the plants don’t get battered too much, although we need the rain. According to the Met Office, it was the warmest April since records began in 1910, and the 11th driest; we haven’t had any significant rain in this area since early-mid March.
