Sunshine Mix

I was going to name this blog posting ‘Serendipity’ because I found these bright and cheerful flowers whilst on a search for something else! This patch of Oxeye Daisies (Leucanthemum vulgare) and Bird’s Foot Trefoils (Lotus corniculatus) are growing in a grass verge, just in front of an austere-looking concrete wall. Although there were quite a few daisies along the verge, there was just this small patch which contained the Bird’s Foot flowers too.

Their bright yellow colours and natural ‘informality’ were captivating and uplifting, and a reminder that although Summer doesn’t officially start until June 21st, it’s pretty much started already.

    1. Thanks very much Sheila. They make a good combination – the yellow colouring of the Bird’s foot is very strong and matches the cone of the daisy quite well.
