Looking Up

Here’s a photograph of my Giant Scabious from a different angle. They are not too difficult to photograph from this angle because they are so tall. I had been trying to photograph the underside of a rather iridescent purple petunia but it’s very much closer to the ground and presents a bit of a challenge!

  1. I had no idea there were giant versions of this plant. Even though they are a roadside weed in my part of the world (Australia) I still find them pretty and interesting to photograph. This is a beautiful capture, well done!

    • Thank you very much! We have wild scabious here in the UK but it’s pretty small and lilac in colour. This Giant species is a great plant. It’s so pretty but informal – it has an ‘untidiness’ I like. If one ascribes personalities to plants, then this one – to me – is natural, at home in its ‘skin’ and doesn’t put on ‘airs and graces’! Simply beautiful and unpretentious.
