A section of palisade fencing around a water feature at the Larmer Tree Gardens, Dorset which I visited on Sunday for the Cranbourne Chase Woodfair.

The mossy areas on the insides of these posts are created by overhanging vegetation and a lack of sunlight to these surfaces.

The Woodfair is held bi-annually and is a really rather pleasant day out. It’s an opportunity for local people who specialise in crafting goods out of wood to demonstrate their skills and to showcase and sell their products.

    1. Thank you David! Yes – I started out earlier this year looking at the small details of things but seem to have branched out into wider scenery. It’s good to focus on the small things once in a while πŸ™‚

    1. Thanks Hallysann! The lines do make your eyes go a bit strange! I have another similar image which I’ll post in a couple of days and it’s even worse (or better!) πŸ™‚

  1. Excellent picture, Meanderer, love the grey and green contrast, and the horizontal beam exiting through the top right corner of the frame. Might also look good rotated 90 degrees clockwise and then horizontally flipped. Great stuff! FATman
