Shooting Star

Another bright image today!

This is a shot of the underside of a vibrant yellow dahlia which I photographed at Kingston Lacy, Dorset. The late afternoon sun really made the yellow colouring of these flowers appear very intense, and the lighting emphasised the star-shaped sepals.

    1. Thank you Hallysann! I know – I do worry about what people think when I’m scrambling around trying to get into position for a shot. One has to lose all one’s inhibitions when taking photographs πŸ™‚

    1. Thanks so much Maggie! I was fortunate to find these lovely flowers just as I was about to leave! It was a pleasant surprise. Many thanks for your visit and kind comments πŸ™‚

  1. I particularly like this shot because I love to paint images, whether animals, plants or people, ‘from behind’ (as you can see from my gravatar). There is something seductive about the turning away.
