Red Leaves

Here is a photograph of some red Acer leaves which had fallen on uncut grass beneath the tree. It was early morning and the grass was a little dewy. The dappled light highlighted the pretty reds and pinks in the leaves.

    • Thank you Sandy. Yes – they are also known as Japanese Maples or Acer Palmatum. The colours are stunning and the finely cut leaves are so pretty. I think they are quite difficult to grow.

  1. That’s a nice picture – my eye is immediately taken to the far right, to the red leaf nearest the bottom of the frame (which is also the biggest and palest leaf), from whence (whence???) it moves upwards and leftwards across the rest of the picture – very nice! Not having any leaves in the bottom left hand corner of the frame helps the picture too. Good work! Adrian
