Blue Frost

We had the hardest frost so far last night which resulted in lots of lovely frost patterns. Here is one from the bonnet of a car. I rotated the image 180 degrees. It’s the first in a mini-frost series.

This image could be used as a beautiful, luxurious wallpaper on a statement wall. Beautiful!

    • Thanks very much Littleskew. Yes, it reminded me of fabrics and wallpapers I’ve seen. The patterns frost makes are so interesting and intriguing – the shapes are wonderful and so varied.

    • Yes, that’s the word I was looking for: damask. Thanks Sandy. I posted this morning and then rushed to get into work so didn’t have time to think what it reminded me of properly. I have some more interesting patterns lined up. Frost patterns are really intriguing.

  2. A fabulous shot. At first glance, I thought it was a strange cloud formation. Pleased to see you are turning the cold snap to your artistic advantage. Wrap up warm.

  3. Beautiful! It’s very pretty when that happens, and the details are so cool when you can photograph them up close. When I got my first DSLR, the first photos I took were of frost on the windows.
