Tulip Drops

I photographed this purple tulip last weekend whilst visiting one of the National Trust gardens in Hampshire, England. The morning started out fine enough with sunshine and warmth. Just after lunch, however, the deep dark rainclouds gathered and decided to pour lots of water on we visitors to said gardens. We were thoroughly soaked and bedraggled and had to sadly leave for home early. These tulips simply took it all in their stride. What wonderful weather proofing!

    1. Many thanks Sandy! Although I was soaked to the skin and feeling very uncomfortable, the sight of these tulips made me briefly forget the discomfort of dripping clothes next to skin!

  1. Now that’s extremely nice, oh yes! I think its a combination of the close up aspect – those vividly coloured and wonderfully curving sheets of petals filling most of the frame- and those startlingly bright water droplets! Glorious stuff! Being really picky, you could exclude the little patch of green on the right, as that tends to distract the eye. But WOWEEE!!!!! Adrian
