The golden rising sun on the morning of the Winter Solstice made these rain droplets on a bench at Stonehenge glow orangey-pink.

Very beautiful, M – the droplets turning orange look almost as if they have molten gold under them! Excellent picture! A

Thank you, Adrian! Makes me think I ought to get up earlier for some of these magical sunrises – although early mornings are mainly pretty grey at present, aren’t they?!

Thanks so much, Marina. The droplets were numerous on these benches which were scattered around the periphery of Stonehenge.

Great image M – love the way the winter solstice sun’s colour has been captured in the droplets.
Hope it wasn’t too wet a day.

Many thanks, Steve. It was a beautiful, bright, and dry morning, however, the ground and most surfaces were wet from the previous two days’ rain. Wellies were useful – not only for the wet, but also the copious amounts of detritus on the grass verges of the A303!

Thank you Helen! I think the bench must have been made out of some sort of resinous material as the drops stayed intact for a long time.
