Visited Sir Harold Hillier gardens and arboretum in Hampshire yesterday and decided it would be informative and fun to seek out their ‘Plants of Current Interest’.
A red-coloured Pieris was one of their selection and it was very pretty but this creamy-white version stood out for me. Pieris plants are acid lovers and come from mountainous forest areas. The common name is ‘Lily of the Valley bush’.
I like the way the tiny flowers are seemingly held by ‘claws’ similar to precious stones in rings.
