What a lovely thing to say. Thanks so much, Lesley. Poppies always make such wonderful photographic subjects – they are quite emotive.

Beautiful. All of the flowers face to same direction.

Many thanks, Cocomino. Yes – it’s that ‘facing away’ which really struck me with this one.

That’s beautiful. It reminds me how sunflowers turn their heads to follow the sun.

Like … no .. I LOVE … the rapeseed makes a rather nice foil to the poppy shapes doesn’t it M … and I like them disappearing of like that as if in a crowded hurry 🙂

🙂 Thank you, Poppy! Yes – the green rapeseed pods do stop the red poppies being too intense. I love the way you’ve described the poppies being in a crowded hurry. A bit like rush hour!

The classic combination of red and green, very beautiful – and I like the way the poppies seems to increase in number and become more densely spread towards the background of the shot. The parallel orientation of the green stems also adds to it. Good stuff! Adrian

Yes – I think it wouldn’t have worked as well if the poppies had been evenly spaced. As Poppy says – they seem to be rushing off somewhere! Thank you, Adrian.
