Amidst a variety of organic debris strewn about decorative slate chippings sits a curious light-coloured cluster of oak leaves. The speckles caught my eye.
Autumn seems to have arrived in many respects: softer light; cool dewy mornings; picturesque towering clouds; spasmodic stormy low-pressure weather systems ……. and gentle mini-whirlpools of dust and leaves which follow ones footsteps indoors leaving seasonal detritus on the mat.
Mince pies are also in the shops ………… . Yes; I know.
