Speckled Oak Leaves

Amidst a variety of organic debris strewn about decorative slate chippings sits a curious light-coloured cluster of oak leaves. The speckles caught my eye.

Autumn seems to have arrived in many respects: softer light; cool dewy mornings; picturesque towering clouds;Β  spasmodic stormy low-pressure weather systems ……. and gentle mini-whirlpools of dust and leaves which follow ones footsteps indoors leaving seasonal detritus on the mat.

Mince pies are also in the shops ………… . Yes; I know.

    1. Autumn is a wonderful Season isn’t it, Sallyann?! Look out for the apples; trees are very heavily laden with them at present.

Not sure about the sprouts; I love them so can’t wait for their appearance πŸ™‚

  1. Love the bleached out colours of the oak leaves here M .
One or two of them appear a little translucent allowing the mauve grey to filter through … just an illusion I know πŸ˜‰

    1. Thank you, Scott! Yes, Autumn – fall – is a special time; I like it very much.

I’m pleased to hear that you love the word “detritus” too. It’s a wonderful word but one I always have to check I’ve spelled correctly πŸ™‚
