Sunburst

The last in the short series of Witch-hazel plants. This variety is called ‘Sunburst’ and was a cheering sight on a grey rainy January day!

  1. Oh, that is so springlike! It’s hard to imagine that you really are having that mild a winter! It’s going to be a long time until anything like that starts growing again here, and it’s wonderful and warming to see the beauty of your new growth!

    • Thank you, Gary! It has been an incredibly mild Winter – so far. The forecast is for the winds to change direction this coming week (from the East) so we may, yet, have a cold spell.

    • Many thanks! They do look unusual and – as you say – showy! They certainly brighten up dull January days. An alternative name for them is the ‘Epiphany tree’ as they tend to flower around that time.
