    1. Thank you, Andy. The surrounding fields are filled with interesting stones. I saw one which looked like a leaf – complete with veining – a few days ago, but the photo I took didn’t come out too well. I’ll have to go back and find it!

    1. Yes – it’s the chalk layer which ultimately allowed many places to dry out like this. This area is actually in a crop field where the crops failed due to the floods. We have had mostly dry weather for the past few weeks – a relief for many.
