Slender lavender stems and flowers sit in front of a neat lawn. Very English country garden 🙂

Thank you, Adrian. Yes, the simplicity is what attracted me. Sometimes lavender bunches but these slender stems looked very elegant, I thought!

Thank you, Ken. I tried an experiment with desaturisation which worked well, but these soft colours lured me back!

That’s very kind; thank you. Yes, I can hear those china teacups. I’m also now thinking about the accompanying cake – and wondering which piece to have 🙂

Thank you, Wendy. Yes, elegance springs to mind when thinking about lavender. There wasn’t a strong scent but perhaps it’s because these were planted quite sparsely.

There are a lot of different varieties. Some are more fragrant than others. I’ve read that the best time to harvest them is in the morning. ❀

Ah how lovely M you’ve made *elegance* out of what I might have called spindly in my garden 🙂 … and now I have the Percy Grainger tune version running through my head ….

Thank you, Poppy! Yes, in more recent years that tune has reminded me firstly of a sketch from The Fast Show (Bob Fleming and co), and also a rather unsavoury version which I won’t repeat here 🙂
