At the foot …

It’s been a wet, windy, and deeply grey day here today – a day for staying indoors and reading whilst now and again glimpsing out of the window at the weather as it rushes by. Now that many of the leaves on the large horse chestnut have fallen, a more distant scene comes into view from my favourite place to sit. Right now – at sunset – tones of violet, blue, and pink have appeared in the sky, as the cloud begins to clear from the South West.

  2. That’s nicely composed – the green grass spangled with wonderfully coloured leaves swirls around the foreground before flowing off at centre top, having been channelled by the tree and the plants at top left – and the ivy on the tree breaks up that faintly sombre patch too. A
