Hoar Frost Twigs

hoarfrost_bw2-201412Got up and out early this morning to take photos of the Winter Wonderland which had appeared overnight. The sun shone briefly before the clouds started to gather. Here, a network of hoar frost-covered twigs stand in disarray against a leaden sky.

    1. Thank you, Adrian. Yes, it was the coldest morning so far and, without breakfast, meant it wasn’t as long a walk as the previous morning, but it was magical. Usually I see a few bods around – especially dog walkers or people collecting their morning paper, but I didn’t encounter anyone yesterday morning.

  1. It has been far too long since I’ve experienced a frost like this, and I keep hoping for another opportunity such as yours. Thank you for getting up early to take it in and bring it to us!

    1. Yes – there’s something a bit ‘Narnia’ about it, isn’t there?! I must say, if felt quite surreal standing there in silence surrounded by spiky things 🙂 Thank you!
