January Willow

willow-201301I found this image of a Willow leaning across a flooded water meadow in my January 2013 archives. What struck me was the variety of colours on that early January day. The red stems I think are Cornus.

    • Thank you, Adrian! Yes, it is similar in some ways to the Somerset Levels. This is an area just to the West of Old Sarum Castle and the River Avon runs through it. This was taken during the year of almost non-stop rain, and the associated floods.
