Seagull and Sun

A seagull sits atop a post looking around enjoying the sun on a rare bright January day in Tenby, Pembrokeshire. The town was pretty quiet and I had a lot of it to myself – well, me and my bird friends (seagulls, corvids, and garden birds). They seemed to be enjoying the peace and tranquility as they lazily sat – singly and in groups – taking in the scenery.

  1. Hi, This is a beautiful photograph of the sky and the sea as the seagull contemplates its surroundings whilst soaking up the sun. With 40 degrees Celsius today and tomorrow, I am currently sheltering from the sun during the hottest part of the day.

    1. Thank you, Margaret. Those temps are crazily high. I read today that 2017 was the hottest year on record. There is a map of temperatures around the world showing areas which were well above average, and SE Australia was one of those.

    1. Thank you, Scott. It’s interesting the way seaside places in the UK get pretty much abandoned by people during Winter. Good for those of us with a leaning towards peace and solitude, though ๐Ÿ™‚
