Parsnip Flowers

Acid yellow parsnip flowers reach up to a baby blue sky on a hot sunny Sunday morning.

I planted parsnips last Summer and hadn’t lifted them all – resulting, this Spring, in huge 5-6 foot stems with bright yellow umbelliferous flowers on top! Insects love them – as can be seen by a few enjoying them in this image. I’m really pleased that they have come up as I love umbellifers 🙂

  1. Love. I nearly always have some parsnips left over and mine too are flowering. I usually try and collect the seed too, once formed, to grow my own parsnips next spring.

      1. It’s better if you have a couple of plants and check the root of the plant you save seed from to make sure it is decent size. That is the advice i got a few years ago and have been using since.
