Golden seaweed roots holding on to the tiny bit of moisture on the surface of this stone on a beach as the tide goes out.
I photographed this whilst crunching my way across the beach at Aberystwyth, West Wales. From the prom, the beach doesn’t look terribly appealing – it has a drab dirty-looking dark grey appearance from a distance. But look closer and one can find wonderful beauty: gorgeous red marbled pebbles along with pink seaweed to match – plus beautiful green marbled pebbles to contrast, along with curious golden thick stemmed seaweed. It was an overcast day when I took this photo, but I’d like to return on a sunny day to capture the pretty jewel-like colours.
