Cornflower Patch

A little patch of Cornflowers in the garden. One of a very few true blue flowering plants – particularly vivid on an overcast day and before dusk. These have been flowering non-stop for weeks; so wonderful for bees and other beneficial insects.

  1. I will occasionally encounter the blue flax flower in the high deserts here in AZ, in the forested meadows around Flagstaff…and I had found them up in the canyons of Utah, as well. The stark blue is always a nice find out in the wild.

Very nice Cornflowers, Meanderer…they must be a sweet and vivid complement to your garden!

    1. Oh, flax is such a wonderful vivid colour blue too. I’ve never seen it growing wild but we came across a huge field around a farm which was growing it; a wonderful sight to behold!
