I took this photograph of the top of a fence post whilst at Heale Gardens last weekend.
It might seem as if I’m a serial ‘leaver-in of superfluous green bits’ in photographs (Lichen on Tiles post) but I’ve kept the bits of green in this one because I think it adds a bit of context. Maybe……
Nice texture on the top of this post, it looks really weatherbeaten.
I like the green bits, I kept trying to scroll up to see more of what was over the edge.

Thanks Hallysann. I see what you mean with trying to scroll up to see more – I just did it too and was annoyed because I couldn’t see any more!

I agree – I want to see more of the green bits! I really like the textures of this post – with a bit of imagination – I am seeing ruins of some Romanesque amphitheatre ๐

Thanks Sheila! Yes, I can imagine sitting there with the heat of the sun bearing down (a bit like yesterday really – around 30 degrees C).

Bits of old weathered wood are really interesting subjects. I photographed another one today in the garden – it’s full of all sorts of colours!

For a minute I thought it was a sunflower head, but then I recognized the wood structure. Neat!

Thanks Sandy! I see what you mean about the sunflower head – it’s the circular pattern!

Very intriguing! And green is one of my favorite colors, so I like that you kept the “green” in!

Thank you Patti. I’m glad you like the glimpse of green which is part of a field where the owners keep an unusual species of sheep. They also recently closed off an area for some very cute miniature pigs.
