I was going to entitle this post: ‘The Definite Article’ but Eddie Izzard arrived there several years before me – and I thought it would be a bit geeky!
The photograph is a crop of a lichen-enrusted dry-docked boat which I thought looked beautiful and so full of character. I also think the calligraphy adds extra charm to such a characterful object.
I like this a lot – and all the more so for the quite muted colours. Very simple and very good. A

I enjoy the limiting characteristic of the definitive article…there’s only one (context dependent, of course). I would imagine that in this instance, there is only one of what you have shared with us…but then on second thought, if this treasure is from the same place you shared with us previously, of the boats being used as planters (?), then there might just be a few more of them. Very nice, Meanderer.
