Bournemouth beach in Dorset, England is renowned for its miles of golden sandy beach but here a few pebbles are revealed by the receding tide.

I like how you turned this into a B&W. The pebbles “pop” and stand out nicely.

Simply. Beautiful. These are the sort of stones I would be picking up to keep for my pocket as a wonderful memory. These are going into my virtual pockets. Thanks.

Oh wow. There are so many interesting aspects to this one but my favorite is the smoothness of the stones against the coarseness of the sand. So well in B&W too.

That’s very nice indeed – whether I would have left in the pale area top left I’m not sure, because it takes my eye away from the beautiful pebbles and associated micro ripple marks (I was a geologist!) in the foreground. The light on the pebbles in the foreground is wonderful. Adrian

i love the clarity of this shot, the texture of the sand and the light glinting off the pebbles. Nice work and it looks so good in B&W.

Thank you Calvin. I was really pleased with how well it converted to B&W. The monochrome colours add to the peaceful effect I think.

Hmm…. Looks like the stones are sitting on some rough piece of cloth.
