Thank you very much, Ken. Bramble leaves tend to turn into a variety of colours during Autumn and Winter. They look even better with a bit of ‘sugar’ coating!
Thank you, Andy. This is a small part of a very large bramble patch in a wild area near a railway line. One finds a lot of interesting foliage, flower, and fruit here.
Yes – they can be seen as a nuisance in the garden, but they do provide nectar for bees and butterflies, nutrition for birds, and a lot of pleasure for photographers!
Oh I like that! Why do I like it? Well, the shape of the leaves, and the dusting of crystals – especially the spiky ones up towards top right >>> but the leaves have also got very fresh, yellow-green colours – the colours of citrus fruit really – and I think this brings a tremendous freshness, even zestiness, to the shot. Yes – there is a sort of fresh Spring-like zestiness about the leaves, isn’t there? It’s sort of incongruous with Winter really! I’m pleased you like it. Thank you, Adrian.
Absolutely beautiful!

Icy crystals are fascinating and so pretty. It also amazes me just how tough some leaves are as they seem to withstand such cold. Many thanks, WG 🙂

Nice going with this frost. Too bad there’s not more of that in Austin to play around with photographically.

Many thanks! It’s a rarer sight these days as our Winters are tending towards milder and wetter, so I always enjoy it when it arrives.
